Arajet is the Dominican Republic's flag-style ultra-low-cost carrier and the first Caribbean airline to deploy Starlink Aviation at scale. Based at Santo Domingo's Las Américas International Airport (SDQ), Arajet announced its Starlink partnership in March 2024 and has since equipped six of ten aircraft — a 60% coverage rate that is high for the region and unusual for a ULCC of its size. The carrier runs a young, single-type Boeing 737 MAX 8 fleet on point-to-point services across Latin America, the Caribbean and increasingly North America. The Starlink rollout has progressed in step with Arajet's fleet expansion, with installations happening as new MAX 8s are delivered or pulled into scheduled maintenance windows. Of 14 MAX 8 airframes appearing in tail-number tracking, six are confirmed equipped, with the remainder expected to follow over the coming year. The aircraft fly daily rotations to Miami, Newark, Toronto, Bogotá, Lima and a wide spread of Caribbean and Latin American destinations, so coverage on any individual flight depends on which specific airframe is assigned. For passengers, Starlink is offered as a paid add-on through Arajet's website rather than as a free amenity, fitting the ULCC unbundled-pricing model. The connection itself is consistent with what other 737 MAX Starlink operators report — typically tens of megabits per second per device — and works across all seats on equipped aircraft. Starlink availability is not yet listed at booking, so passengers wanting to confirm coverage should check the tail number against tracking sources once it appears on the day of departure.
