Starlink Flights ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit starlinkflights.com and how we use it.
We do not require accounts or logins to use the site. We collect no personal information from visitors who browse without submitting data.
When you voluntarily submit a speed test, we collect: flight number, airline, download speed, upload speed, latency, altitude, flight phase, aircraft tail number, connection ASN, and the Cloudflare PoP identifier (CF-RAY) from the response headers.
We also capture the external public IP address assigned to the Starlink terminal serving your flight. This is a shared network address used by all passengers on the aircraft — it is not a personal device IP address and cannot be used to identify you individually.
You may optionally provide a display username and email address. Your email address is never displayed publicly. Your display username appears on the community leaderboard only if you choose to provide one.
If you sign up for route or airline alerts, we store your email address to send you notifications when Starlink availability changes on your chosen route or airline. You can unsubscribe at any time by contacting [email protected].
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and StatCounter to understand how visitors use the site — page views, search queries, and general traffic patterns. These services may collect anonymised data such as your approximate location, browser type, and device type. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We use first-party cookies for analytics purposes only (Google Analytics and StatCounter). No advertising, tracking, or third-party marketing cookies are used.
Speed test data is used to calculate route-level Starlink probability scores displayed on the site, and for network research in collaboration with academic partners. Individual submissions are never sold or shared with third parties for commercial purposes. Anonymised, aggregated data may be shared with academic researchers studying inflight network performance.
Email addresses collected for alerts are used solely to send the notifications you requested. They are never sold, rented, or shared.
Speed test submissions are retained as part of a longitudinal dataset. Email addresses for alerts are retained until you unsubscribe. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months per Google's standard policy.
You may request access to or deletion of any data associated with your email address by contacting [email protected]. We will respond to requests within 30 days.
The site is hosted on Vercel. Vercel may collect standard server logs for operational purposes. See Vercel's Privacy Policy for details.
Email notifications are delivered via Resend. Subscriber management is handled via Kit (formerly ConvertKit). See their respective privacy policies for how they handle data.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
