Iberia Starlink WiFi — Coming 2026

Iberia is Spain's flag carrier and a founding member of the International Airlines Group (IAG), based at Madrid-Barajas Airport (MAD). One of the world's oldest airlines still operating under its original name, Iberia was founded in 1927 and now operates a fleet of approximately 135 aircraft serving Europe, Latin America, North America, Africa, and the Middle East. The airline's transatlantic network is its commercial centrepiece — Iberia holds a commanding position on Spain-to-Latin America routes, particularly to Mexico City, Buenos Aires, Bogotá, Lima, and São Paulo, operating long-haul services on Airbus A350-900 and A330 widebodies from Madrid. Iberia's Starlink announcement came in November 2025 as part of the IAG group-wide SpaceX partnership, covering Iberia alongside British Airways, Aer Lingus, Vueling, and LEVEL. The agreement commits to a broad fleet rollout beginning in 2026, though Iberia has not published individual aircraft installation schedules. Zero aircraft are currently confirmed as Starlink-equipped, and all routes carry the 15% announced-carrier baseline. The fleet is a revealing snapshot of Iberia's operational model: 23 A350-900 aircraft serve the long-haul transatlantic network, 22 A320neo jets handle European medium-haul, A330-200 and A330-300 widebodies supplement the transatlantic fleet, and A321 family aircraft cover higher-density European routes. A notable quirk in the database is the 31 CRJ-1000 regional jets (CRJX) that operate under the Iberia Regional brand — these are flown by Air Nostrum under a franchise agreement, and their Starlink inclusion in the IAG deal has not been confirmed separately. For passengers, the most impactful Starlink upgrades will come on Iberia's transatlantic A350-900 services — 10–12 hour sectors to Buenos Aires, Mexico City, and New York where reliable connectivity is a genuine business- and premium-cabin differentiator.
