All rates sourced from the official fly2houston.com IAH Parking Rates page (current as of January 2026). Terminal garages are first-come/first-served unless capacity reaches 85%, at which point only pre-booked reservations are admitted — pre-booking strongly recommended during World Cup 2026 and peak travel periods. ecopark 2 became reservation-only from June 1, 2026. Valet available at both garage locations. The Skyway people mover connects all terminals airside; the Subway provides landside connections including to the on-site Marriott Hotel.
Transport options to and from Houston
Bus
Journey time: Route 500: 45-60 minutes non-stop to downtown. Route 102: 50-90 minutes with stops.
Fare: Route 500: $4.50 one-way. Route 102: $1.25 (cash only; driver does not give change).
METRO offers two bus routes from IAH to Downtown Houston. Route 500 IAH Downtown Direct: non-stop express bus between Terminal E (as of December 7, 2025; previously Terminal C) and the George R. Brown Convention Center downtown. Operates 7 days/week, every 30 minutes, 05:30–20:00. Route 102: local bus with multiple stops via Greater Greenspoint, serving downtown with up to 15-minute headways on weekdays. Slower and not recommended for tight connections. Bus stops on Baggage Claim Level (south side of Terminal C for Route 102; Terminal E for Route 500).
taxi_rideshare

45-60 minutes by Route 500 bus; 25-40 minutes by taxi/rideshare outside peak hours
The only Priority Pass lounge at IAH is the KLM Crown Lounge in Terminal D (near Gate D16), but it blocks Priority Pass entry from 11:00–15:00 daily — plan around this window or arrive before 11:00 for morning access. If you're flying United from Terminal B during the Terminal B Transformation (through fall 2026), check in at Terminal C and give yourself an extra 20-30 minutes to ride the Skyway to Terminal B gates, as signage is still maturing. The Skyway automated people mover runs 24 hours connecting all 5 terminals airside post-security, making inter-terminal connections fast — but the first and last carriages can be sparse overnight, so position yourself mid-platform.
IAH has TSA PreCheck lanes at all terminal security checkpoints — strongly recommended given the airport's size and traffic volumes. CLEAR biometric lanes are available at Terminal C and Terminal E. Terminal B's security checkpoint is closed during the Terminal B Transformation (January 2025–fall 2026) — all Terminal B passengers must clear security at Terminal C, then take the Skyway airside train to Terminal B gates; budget at least 20 extra minutes. International departures from Terminal D should enter via the Terminal C/D/E garage, as Terminal D has its own dedicated security checkpoint. With 116 gates across 5 terminals connected by the Skyway automated people mover, allow at least 20 minutes for inter-terminal connections after security.
All international arrivals at IAH clear US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) at the Federal Inspection Service (FIS) facility in Terminal E. Arrivals from Terminal D connect to the FIS via The Aquarius Art Tunnel (an award-winning underwater-themed walkway). Global Entry provides expedited immigration through automated kiosks at the FIS — strongly recommended given high international traffic volumes; enrollment center available at IAH. Mobile Passport Control app is accepted as a free alternative for eligible US citizens and permanent residents. Passengers with connecting domestic flights after international arrival should budget 75-90 minutes minimum for CBP, baggage reclaim, re-check, and re-clearing security.
