SAS Starlink WiFi — Coming Late 2026

SAS Scandinavian Airlines announced its Starlink Aviation partnership in January 2026 with installations scheduled to begin at the end of 2026 — making it one of the most recent commitments among European flag carriers. The airline currently has zero equipped aircraft from a fleet of roughly 130 across mainline and regional operations, but has publicly committed to a fleet-wide programme covering its Airbus A320neo backbone, A330 and A350 long-haul widebodies, regional Embraer 195s and ATR 72-600 turboprops. The fleet structure is dominated by 81 Airbus A320neos used on intra-Europe and short-haul flying out of Copenhagen, Oslo and Stockholm. Long-haul widebody operations to North America and Asia run on a small mixed fleet of 8 A330-300s and 5 A350-900s. Regional services use 16 Embraer 195s, 15 CRJ-900s and 6 ATR 72-600s. SAS's rollout plan has not been broken down by sub-fleet priority publicly, but airlines of comparable mix have typically prioritised the high-utilisation mainline narrow-bodies first because they generate the largest passenger volume per installation hour. For passengers, SAS has made one notable pricing commitment that differentiates it from most rolling-out airlines: Starlink Wi-Fi will be free for EuroBonus loyalty members on equipped aircraft once installations begin. Pricing for non-members has not been confirmed, but the EuroBonus-free model echoes United's status-gated Wi-Fi from the pre-Starlink era and is unusual in being structured around loyalty rather than fare class. Until installations begin in late 2026, SAS continues to operate its existing Inmarsat-based Wi-Fi as a paid product across most of the fleet.
