Air Mauritius Starlink WiFi

Air Mauritius has not announced plans to install Starlink satellite internet connectivity on its aircraft. The Indian Ocean island carrier currently operates without onboard WiFi on its flights, meaning passengers rely on offline entertainment options and personal downloads for connectivity during their journeys. As the national airline linking Mauritius to destinations across Africa, Asia, and Europe, Air Mauritius serves a mix of leisure travellers and business passengers on routes where inflight connectivity has become increasingly expected. The broader aviation industry has seen growing momentum behind Starlink adoption, with airlines attracted by the service's combination of high-speed performance, low-latency connectivity, and coverage over oceans and remote regions where traditional satellite systems have struggled. For carriers operating long-haul routes over water—precisely the operational profile of many Air Mauritius flights—Starlink represents a compelling solution to passenger demand for reliable internet access throughout the journey. Whether Air Mauritius will join the wave of airlines deploying Starlink remains to be seen. The decision involves balancing installation costs, operational complexity, and passenger expectations against the competitive advantage that robust WiFi can deliver. For now, travellers on Air Mauritius flights should plan for offline connectivity and consider downloading content, messages, and work materials before boarding.
