Parking options at Boston Logan International Airport
| Zone | Type | Daily | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Central Parking Garage (Terminals A, B, C) Covered garage. Level 4 pedestrian bridges connect to all terminals (A, B, C). EV charging available. Rate increased to $41/day effective March 1, 2026 (up from $34). Advance reservations available via Massport at significant discount — book at massport.com. First hour $9. E-ZPass accepted. | On-site | $41 drive-up; $29 advance reservation | Book parking → |
| Terminal B Garage Covered garage directly adjacent to Terminal B. Most convenient for American Airlines and Southwest passengers. Rate effective March 1, 2026. First hour $9. E-ZPass accepted. Book in advance at massport.com. | On-site | $38 drive-up; approximately $26–28 advance reservation | Book parking → |
| Terminal E Garage (new — opened January 2026) Brand new 2,200-space covered garage opened January 2026, directly connected to Terminal E. Replaces E1/E2 surface lots (permanently closed). License plate recognition for entry and exit. EV charging available. Dedicated ride-app pickup level. Best option for international Terminal E departures. Rate effective March 1, 2026. | On-site | $41 drive-up; approximately $29 advance reservation | Book parking → |
| Economy Parking Lot (Prescott Street) Uncovered surface lot. Shuttle bus to all terminals; frequency every 15–20 minutes (24 hours). IMPORTANT: capacity reduced by 500 spaces in February 2026 (western portion converted to Logan Express staging). Lot frequently fills by 8:00am–8:30am on weekdays — Massport does not offer advance reservations for the Economy Lot, so arrival after 8am risks being turned away. Off-site lots recommended as more reliable alternative. | Long stay | $26 | Book parking → |
All on-airport parking managed by Massport at massport.com/logan-airport/getting-to-logan/parking. Advance reservations on the Central, Terminal B, and Terminal E garages save 20–30% versus drive-up rates and guarantee a space. The Economy Lot does not accept reservations and regularly fills before 9am on weekdays — not reliable for early flights during peak periods. Sumner Tunnel restoration (I-90 connector) continues through 2026 with weekend closures disrupting eastbound access from downtown and North Shore; off-site providers on Bennington Street and Chelsea Street use alternate routes and avoid tunnel delays. Off-site operators (PreFlight Airport Parking, Park Shuttle & Fly, Logan Park & Go) from approximately $11.50/day (uncovered) to $17–24/day (covered valet) with free 24/7 shuttles; book ahead via SpotHero or directly. Logan Express bus service from Braintree, Framingham, Woburn, and Back Bay with on-site parking at those stations from approximately $7–9/day — excellent value for outlying areas.
Transport options to and from Boston
Bus
Journey time: approximately 20 minutes to South Station (downtown Boston)
Fare: FREE inbound (airport to South Station). $2.75 outbound (South Station to airport, CharlieCard).
MBTA Silver Line SL1 — FREE in the inbound direction (airport to city). Departs directly from each terminal's bus stop: Level 1 (arrivals/ground level) at Terminals A, B, and E; check terminal signage at C. Runs 5:30am–12:30am, every 8–12 minutes. Direct non-stop service from airport to South Station (downtown), where passengers can connect to Red Line (Cambridge, Quincy), Commuter Rail (Providence, Worcester, Plymouth), and Amtrak. Return trip (South Station to airport) costs $2.75. IMPORTANT: The Silver Line bus is the best value transport at BOS — free, frequent, and direct to downtown in ~20 minutes.
subway_metro
Journey time: approximately 30–40 minutes total (5–10 min shuttle + 20 min Blue Line to Government Center/Park Street)
Fare: $2.40 (CharlieCard stored-value, Blue Line only; shuttle is free)
MBTA Blue Line — Airport Station is accessible via the free Massport Shuttle Bus (Routes 22 and 33) from all terminals. Shuttle buses run 5:00am–1:00am, approximately every 8–12 minutes; the trip from terminals to Airport Station takes 5–10 minutes. From Airport Station, Blue Line trains to downtown Government Center (~5 stops) and Park Street (change for Red/Green Lines). Blue Line runs approximately 5:00am–12:30am (last train varies). Pay on board via CharlieCard ($2.40 stored-value fare), CharlieTicket, or contactless credit/debit card. NOTE: Silver Line (below) is FREE inbound and faster — use SL1 unless Blue Line is more convenient for your specific destination.
taxi_rideshare
Journey time: 15–25 minutes to downtown Boston or Back Bay in normal traffic; up to 45 minutes during peak congestion, Sumner Tunnel closures, or Red Sox/Celtics game days
Fare: UberX/Lyft: approximately $25–40 to downtown Boston or Back Bay (includes $5.50 Massport surcharge). Taxi: approximately $25–35 metered plus $5.50 surcharge and tip. Total cost $30–45 by rideshare or taxi.
Taxis and rideshare (Uber, Lyft) available from designated pickup areas outside each terminal's ground floor (arrivals level). Rideshare app required for Uber/Lyft; designated TNC pickup zones marked at each terminal. IMPORTANT: Massport surcharge on rideshare increased from $3.25 to $5.50 per trip effective July 2025 (with a further increase to $7.50 planned for July 2027 — confirm current rate). Taxi surcharges also increased. The $5.50 surcharge is added to every pickup/drop-off fare automatically by the app.

Boston Logan's biggest hidden advantage is the **free Silver Line SL1 bus** from every terminal directly to South Station — the fastest and cheapest way into downtown, and most arriving passengers walk straight past it to the taxi rank. At just 20 minutes to South Station with a Red Line connection onward, it's faster than a cab in traffic. For lounge access: the Chase Sapphire Lounge (Terminal B, Gates B39–B40 connector) is the undisputed best credit-card lounge at BOS and is reachable from both Terminal B and Terminal C gates without re-clearing security — making it uniquely powerful for the airport's largest carrier, JetBlue. Priority Pass holders should note the Air France Lounge in Terminal E (Gates E3–E4, elevator access) is significantly better food-wise than The Lounge in Terminal C, so if your gate in E or C allows it, make the walk. The new Delta Sky Club in Terminal E (21,000 sq ft near Gate E13) is the best Delta lounge at BOS and worth the longer walk from Gates E1–E5 for Delta transatlantic passengers.
BOS has separate security checkpoints per terminal — there is NO pre-security connector between terminals. However, Terminals B and C are connected POST-security (after you clear), and Terminal C connects to Terminal E post-security. Terminal A is fully isolated — if flying Delta from Terminal A, allow time for the separate Terminal A security checkpoint. TSA PreCheck lanes are available at all four terminals; CLEAR biometric screening is also available (check current availability at each terminal). Terminal E security for international departures can be slow during the 7pm–9pm evening bank when multiple European and Middle East flights depart simultaneously — allow 45–60 minutes minimum without PreCheck. The Silver Line SL1 is free inbound (airport to city) and is accessed from ground floor/arrivals level at each terminal — no CharlieCard needed, just board the bus.
All international arrivals are processed at the Federal Inspection Services facility in Terminal E, regardless of which terminal the aircraft parks at — domestic connections after international arrivals will require a walk or shuttle to the connecting terminal. Global Entry kiosks available in Terminal E significantly reduce CBP processing time. The CBP One app (Mobile Passport Control) is accepted for eligible passport holders. Connecting passengers (international arrival then domestic departure from Terminal A or B) should allow minimum 60–90 minutes after landing, as CBP processing, baggage reclaim, recheck, and re-clearing domestic security all add time. Logan regularly has among the longer international arrival processing times of major East Coast airports during peak seasons (July–August, November–December).
